Where the river flows
While studying the book of Ezekiel, I came upon this passage…“Now he brought me back to the entrance to the Temple. I saw water pouring out from under the Temple porch to the east (the Temple faced east). The water poured from the south side of the Temple, south of the altar. … The water was gushing from under the south front of the Temple. … Wherever the river flows, life will flourish—great schools of fish—because the river is turning the salt sea into fresh water. Where the river flows, life abounds… But the river itself, on both banks, will grow fruit trees of all kinds. Their leaves won’t wither, the fruit won’t fail. Every month they’ll bear fresh fruit because the river from the Sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.” ~ Ezekiel 47: 1-2, 8, 12 (MSG)
Where the river flows from the temple… Where the river flows there is life, life flourishing and abounding, non-withering leaves on trees bearing fresh fruit that feeds and heals.
Jesus is the life, the way, and the truth. He came to bring us life, abundant abounding life. He is the living water that flows to us, in us, and out from us. Through Him we never die, our souls flourish with His eternal life. As we abide in Him, we bear His fruit that feeds and heals.
Oh where the living water flows is unending beauty, allow His river to flow in you and through you!
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” ~ John 7:38 (NASB)
“…I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” ~ John 10:10 (NASB)
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” ~ John 15:5 (NASB)
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NASB)
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.” ~ Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NASB)
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son, Jesus who gifts us with grace, mercy, and eternal life. Thank You that through Him we have abundant, flourishing, living-water life. Thank You! Help me abide in You, trust in You, so that Your living water always flows free.
