Shine
Hundreds of pebbles, maybe a thousand, but one caught my attention. The tiny rock had a shine that made it stand out among the rest. Assuming the stone was a crystal, I felt the urge to pick it up. However, upon closer inspection, I found nothing special; only a basic dull rock. The only reason the pebble had been shining was because of the sun’s shine.
I don’t know about you, but I want to shine for Jesus. Unfortunately, many days I try so hard I make myself crazy. Thankfully, a little dull pebble finally got through my little dull skull. To shine for Jesus, I need to be with Jesus and allow His light to shine through. The world doesn’t need a shiny Lisa Buffaloe, but it sure does need The Light of The World — Jesus.
Even though the moon is a big round dull rock in the sky, it reflects the light of the sun.
Which gives me great hope, I might be a basic, dull rock here on earth, but I can reflect the never-ending, amazing, wonderful SONshine! So I’m going to spend time with the Light of the World, and let Him shine through.
Let’s spend time with Jesus and let His light shine!
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” ~ Isaiah 60:1 (NASB)
Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” ~ John 8:12 (NASB)
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16 (NASB)
“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” ~ 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NASB)
