He leads
“Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” ~ Isaiah 30:21 (NASB)
I love that verse! I’ve loved the verse for years, quoted it, meditated on it, and am so grateful for it. But to be honest I still worried I might turn the wrong way, not a sinful way just the wrong way.
Maybe God would want me to go left and I would go right. Like a little lost kid, I’d be cluelessly wandering off on some God-forsaken pathway all alone without God’s guidance. All alone. All by myself. Lost. Alone. Whimper. Sniffle. Waaaaaaaail!
Thankfully God doesn’t leave us, He is a God who continues to reach out, to call, to beckon. If I’m turning left, He will guide me. If I’m turning right, He’ll guide me. He will tell me the right way or the wrong way no matter which way I go. I’m so grateful. No matter how clueless I may be, God will guide. I tell ya, that is a reason to celebrate!
Our God will lead. His word promises…
“‘I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,’ declares the Lord God.” (Ezekiel 34:15, NASB)
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” (Isaiah 40:11, NIV)
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” (Isaiah 42:16, NIV)
“They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.” (Isaiah 49:10, NIV)
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)
Feeling lost? All alone? Wondering if you might go the wrong way? Praise the Lord, God will lead!
