Standing faith
The image is burned in my mind. A man and his wife sit in the dirt in a refugee camp. When the rebels came, the family with their six children left with nothing but the clothes on their back.
Nothing.
No possessions.
No home.
Nothing.
The one thing the man asked for, his only request? A Bible.
A Bible to preach God’s word to other refuges. A Bible to share God’s hope. This man, a pastor, lost everything, but his faith remains.
How is your faith? Does it stand strong only on “good” days? Or does your faith waver during trials and tribulation? Would you still love God, still serve Him, if you lost everything?
No matter what happened in the past, no matter what happens in the future, will your faith stand firm on God’s truth?
God’s Truth won’t desert you.
God’s Truth watches over you.
God’s Truth knows no bounds.
God’s Truth is eternal.
God’s Truth is unfailing love.
Whatever happens, will you stand firm on His Truth?
“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord! Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.” ~ Habakkuk 3:17-18, Job 1:21, Psalm 73:25 (NLT)
Mining for Treasure
Every day we are given opportunities to stand firm in our faith. Every choice we make, every action we take, shows our level of faith.
Remember God’s truth, study His word, and hold fast to His promises.
God will hold you steady and help you faithfully stand through every situation you encounter.
