Cornered
What if someone in a theater continued yelling negative comments during a show? “He’ll never survive!” “She’s a loser!” “No way this will end with anything good.”
That’s what the enemy does with us. Satan is a tormentor, and boy does he like to torment in the middle of the night when we can’t do a thing about anything and are helpless, tired, and weak. The enemy doesn’t fight fair and he’s a bully. Grrrrr….
After a particularly heart-breaking time, I felt all alone, not sure who I could trust. Battered, weepy, and tired, I felt like a tiny girl standing in a corner with nose to the wall.
Thank the Lord I realized if I’m in a corner all I have to do is remember I stand on THE Cornerstone – Jesus Who is The Savior/Solid Rock/Redeemer/Mighty Warrior/Prince of Peace/Lord of Lords. I am never defenseless.
As a child of the King of kings, nobody puts His babies into a corner.
So, I turned around, put on my boxing gloves (sword-of-the-Spirit style), and stepped out of the corner and back in the fight. This woman is a fighter who is on God’s winning team! And, you are too!
God is strong and mighty in battle, the strength of our salvation, a stronghold for the oppressed, and a stronghold in the times of trouble. He covers our heads in the day of battle. So, be strong and let your heart take courage, God gives strength to the weary. Trust the Lord, He is your strength and shield and will never leave you alone in any corner. For, if the Son sets you free, you are truly free!
Feeling cornered? You are never cornered as a child of the King!
“Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle” (Psalm 24:8, NASB).
“The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9, NASB).
“O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle” (Psalm 140:7, NASB).
“Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord” (Psalm 31:24, NASB).
“He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power” (Isaiah 40:29, NASB).
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him” (Psalm 28:7, NASB).
If the Son sets you free, you are truly free. (John 8:36, NLT).
