Searching for wonder
Have you ever watched a small child? The smallest object can be a source of squealing delight. A flower, a ladybug, and even a weed can capture their attention to examine, prod, and touch.
I wonder, have we lost that same wonder?
Have we stopped looking, searching, and noticing?
God has placed treasures in every single moment, but we won’t find if we don’t look.
A treasure hunt isn’t just a quick glance; it’s an all-out pursuit, a digging, exploring, searching quest to find the amazing God-given blessings.
With the wide-eyed wonder of a small child ask to see the smallest details, seek to find the beauty, knock until the door of your heart is tender and open to notice all the blessings of God.
Search for wonder and you will see the wonders of God.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” ~ Matthew 7:7-8 (NASB)
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” ~ Matthew 13:44 (NASB)
“Good friend, take to heart what I’m telling you; collect my counsels and guard them with your life. Tune your ears to the world of Wisdom; set your heart on a life of Understanding. That’s right—if you make insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt, believe me, before you know it Fear-of-God will be yours; you’ll have come upon the Knowledge of God.” ~ Proverbs 2:1-5 (MSG)
