Dwelling in life

Posted on January 27, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeJanuary 27, 2023

One night I dreamed my sweet husband and I were driving in the mountains. When we turned a corner, people were in the middle of the street where they had fallen on ice and snow. Slipping and sliding, the people could not find their footing.

The dream reminds me of what is happening in our world. People are slipping and sliding, stumbling and falling, because they are not standing firm on (and in) the word of God. A secure footing can’t be found without God’s word, and God’s guidance can’t be received without knowing The Word – Jesus Christ.

Throughout the Bible, this statement is made, “The word of the Lord came to…” God’s word came to people to guide, warn, and bring encouragement and hope. God continues speaking, yet I wonder how many will listen. Would we know the word of the Lord if it came to us? Reading the word of the Lord, the Bible, helps us to hear and know The Word.

Jesus, the Word, became flesh and dwelt among us. For those who invite Him into their lives, He dwells within them. As we dwell in the life given through Jesus Christ, we become united in His Spirit. Jesus said His sheep hear His voice, they know Him, and they follow Him (John 10:27). How cool is that?

Jesus, The Word, dwells in us and His Holy Spirit brings guidance, comfort, and encouragement. Jesus is the Life, and with a relationship with Him we dwell in His life. As we read God’s word, we are reading The Word, and are given insight and wisdom not found in this world.

God’s word is filled with power, active and alive, bringing living water renewal to thirsty souls. Stand firm in these slippery times by reading the Bible. God’s word brings you healing, hope, joy, wisdom, encouragement, perfect peace, setting free and bringing light to guide your feet and a lamp for your path. Renew your mind with scripture, fill your thoughts with God’s word, study and meditate on the verses. God’s word is an indispensable weapon in the fight against demonic forces and the lies of the enemy.

Every time you read God’s word; the truth will dwell deeper in your life as you dwell deeper in the One who brings life.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Jesus and thank You for the Bible. Thank You that when I give my life to Jesus, I am blessed to dwell in His eternal life.

Father, help me to meditate on Your word throughout the day and night. Your promise is that I will be blessed, happy, fortunate, soul-prosperous, and enviable when I delight in and desire Your precepts, instructions, and teachings. As I meditate on Your Word and observe what You have written, You will help me deal wisely and have good success.

Help me ponder and study Your word, because then I will be like a tree firmly planted and tended by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity.

God’s Timeless Truth

“Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.” ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMPC)

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” ~ Joshua 1:8 (AMPC)

“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” ~ Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC)

“Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who … his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].” ~ Psalm 1:1-3 (AMPC)

Walking in belief

Posted on January 24, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeMarch 20, 2021

In the 1800’s George Müller was a thief, liar, and gambler—until God touched his heart. A changed man, Müller began preaching, and then felt the call to help poor children.

He recorded in his personal journal how he desired to show God’s faithful provision. “It is true that the faith which I am able to exercise is God’s own gift. He alone supports it, and He alone can increase it. Moment by moment, I depend on Him.”

Every page reveals God’s daily, consistent, provision for each need—clothing, food, and shelter. Not once, did Müller tell anyone the needs for himself or his ministry—except God. And God met each and every need in awesome and abundant ways. Many times grace was said over empty plates, only to have food delivered before the prayer was finished.

He believed completely in Philippians 4:19 that God would meet every need. Year after year, day after day, moment by moment, George Müller took every need to his heavenly Father.

And in George Müller’s lifetime, he established 117 schools which educated over 120,000 children and through his orphanages he cared for 18,000 orphans. Eighty-two missionaries were supported, 4,000 Bibles were distributed, and over 1 million tracts and portions of scriptures.

George Müller lived and walked his faith. Oh, that we would do the same!

Heavenly Father, help me to walk believing and trusting in You!

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:19 (NASB)

Bring them to Jesus

Posted on January 20, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeJanuary 20, 2018

Remember to pray, remember to bring your children, your loved ones, your friends, the lost, bring them all to Jesus in prayer. Regardless of what the crowd says, what others say, bring them to Jesus. For the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Bring your children to Jesus. Synagogue officials, Jews, Gentiles, Centurions, mothers, fathers, brought their children to Jesus. Large faith or small faith by the parents, every need was met by the love and compassion of Christ Jesus (Matthew 9:18-25, Matthew 15:21-28, Matthew 8:5-13), Mark 9:17-27, Matthew 19:13-14).

Bring your family to Jesus and bring your friends to Jesus. Carry them, bring them in prayer, tear through the roof of heaven and bring them to Jesus. Large crowds came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them. …They brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. They came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. Jesus healed him (Matthew 15:30, Matthew 4:24, Mark 2:1-12).

Bring yourself to Jesus. The blind, lame, leper, hemorrhaging, demon-possessed, the curious, and the prodigal are all met by the love , forgiveness, and healing of Christ Jesus and our merciful Heavenly Father (Matthew 9:20-22, Matthew 20:30-34, Luke 19:10, Luke 15:11-32, Matthew 8:1-3, Luke 17:11-16 , Luke 8:1-3).

No need is too small, no need is too great, no sin is too dark, no wound too deep for Christ Jesus. Bring yourself, bring them, bring them all to Jesus.

Christ Jesus is …at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Jesus… continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:24-25 (NASB)

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. ~ 1 John 5:14-15, James 5:16-17 (NASB)
