Guard your heart

Posted on January 27, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeMay 15, 2019

“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23, AMPC).

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7, NASB).

Guarding the flow of your heart, reading God’s Word, brings understanding of spiritual insight and refreshing and boundless wellspring of life. “Understanding (spiritual insight) is a [refreshing and boundless] wellspring of life to those who have it…” (Proverbs 16:22, AMP).

Jesus said, “whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life” (John 4:14, AMP).

“He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’” (John 7:38, AMP).

Guard your hearts, friends. Be careful, be diligent with what you read, what you watch, what you think and ponder, and guard your heart. Let the Living Water flow from Jesus to you to bubble continuously within you.

How can you guard your heart?

The One

Posted on January 17, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeJanuary 17, 2019

In our world, numbers gauge success, yet with God one matters. Your one soul mattered so much to God that He sent His one and only Son (John 3:16).

There is one God and one Savior (1 Corinthians 8:6). Jesus is the one who will save (1 John 4:14,  Romans 10:13).  Jesus is the One Door, the one Way to salvation (John 10:9, John 14:6). The one who comes to Jesus will be welcomed, find rest, and eternal life (John 6:37, Matthew 11:28, John 17:3).

God looks for the one. He looks for the one to save – the one lost sheep (Luke 15:4), the one lost coin (Luke 15:8-10), the one Samaritan woman (John 4:5-42), the one demon possessed man (Mark 5:1-20), the one hurting in need of healing (John 5:1-9), the one in need of sight (Mark 10:46-52), and the needs of the many ones are met in miraculous ways (Matthew 11:5).

Every one matters to God and every one of your acts of service to God matters (Matthew 10:42, 1 Corinthians 3:8).

God looks for ones who fear Him, who are faithful to Him, who are righteous, who walk with Him and will minister in His name (Psalm 33:18, Psalm 101:6, Psalm 34:15). The eyes of the Lord move throughout the earth to find the ones whose hearts are completely His that He may strongly support them (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Work for The One. Be one who will keep focus on our one Savior and spread the good news of the love of the One Savior who eternally saves.

Jesus said, “I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved … I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest”” (John 10:9, NASB, John 14:6, NASB, John 6:37, NASB, Matthew 11:28).

“Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him. In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]…” (1 John 4:15-17, AMP).

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19, AMP).

“Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, AMP).

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]” (Ephesians 2:10, AMP).

Heavenly Father, thank You for the forgiveness, grace, and mercy of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You that You are a loving God who saves. Thank You for Your salvation. Thank You that every one matters. Help me to walk in Your ways, read Your word, and share the good news of Your one and only precious Son, Jesus Christ. who is the Savior of the world.

Shine like the stars

Posted on October 12, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeOctober 12, 2018

You are the light of the world… let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16). Are the words we use, the things we share in person and on social media, are they shining the light of Christ? Are our God-given lights shining with good deeds that result in praise of God?

Be …blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation … among whom you shine like stars in the universe (Philippians 2:14-15). Are we different from the world, living blameless and pure, so that God’s light shines through us in a dark world?

For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of the darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (2 Corinthians 4:5-7). Are we sharing God’s truth, the good news of Jesus, or are we sharing ourselves, our opinions and agenda? Will others look at us, mere clay pots, and see the shining power of God?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ who gives us the light of Christ in our hearts. May we shine for You! Help us be blameless and pure, remembering we are Your servants who are given Your mighty, excellent power. Father, help us shine for You so that others will see You and praise You!
