New Year

Posted on December 31, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeDecember 31, 2019

New Year is about new beginnings. Regardless of what last year was like, we are given new opportunities, new experiences, and new everything! God’s mercies are new every morning. God makes all things new. God. Makes. All. Things. New.

The same God who creates unique snowflakes, recreates us with His loving, grace-filled touch.

Snowflakes

Be encouraged and excited about this New Year. No matter what tomorrow holds, God is already there. You never have to walk through anything alone. God is with you. With God all things are possible. God grants strength, love, hope, joy, comfort, peace, and will meet every need. God is new beginnings! Happy New Year, friends! Happy NEW Year!

“The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” ~ Lamentations 3:22-23 (NASB)

“Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” ~ Isaiah 40:31 (NASB)

“Do not remember the former things, or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19 (AMP)

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB)

Holiday Prayer for the Hurting

Posted on December 14, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeDecember 14, 2019

Heavenly Father, the holidays often magnify the sense of loneliness. We bring our prayer before Your loving throne.

For those who are alone or have lost loved ones, please magnify Your presence, comfort, and peace.

For those whose finances are lacking, please multiply the loaves and fishes to meet each and every need.

For those who feel surrounded by the enemy, please open their eyes to see Your angelic army surrounding them.

For those who are groping in darkness, shine Your light of truth and mercy.

For those who are homeless, thank You they can dwell forever in Your presence and have a wonderful eternal home with You.

For those who are afraid, remind them of Your might, power, and complete authority.

For those who are in difficult situations, shelter them in the shadow of Your powerful wings.

Heavenly Father, wrap them tenderly in Your love. Hold them close as You wipe every precious tear. Bless them Father to feel You in a new, real, and vibrant way. Place in their hearts the joy of You. Father, thank You that You are gentle with hurting hearts.

“Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.” ~ Psalm 10:17 (NLT)

“Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.” ~ Psalm 119:49-50 (NLT)

“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” ~ Psalm 94:19 (NLT)

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” ~ Psalm 23:4 (NLT)

“Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.” ~ Psalm 119:76 (NLT)

“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” ~ Matthew 5:4 (NLT)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” ~ Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

“He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” ~ Psalm 147:3 (NLT)

“Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—this is God, whose dwelling is holy.” ~ Psalm 68:5 (NLT)

“For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” ~ Revelation 7:17 (NLT)

Don’t feed the monster

Posted on October 10, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeOctober 10, 2019

What if on your front porch someone left a deadly, poisonous, ravenous, wicked, rabid, crazed, flesh-eating monster? Now mind you, the monster does tend to sweet talk and try to convince you that you should just take it in and everything will work out just fine.

Unfortunately, we’ve all invited in the monster. We’ve all been hypnotized and mesmerized by his subtle soothing voice.

A lie is a monster.

Lies often slither in without us even being aware of its presence. Remember that lie someone said when you were a kid that you weren’t smart? Or the lie that said you’ve been used and abused and no one will want you now? Or the lie that tells you that people and God wouldn’t love you if they knew the truth about you? Or you’re too old? Or you’re too fat, too thin, too lazy, too dumb, too late, too early, too ….

Lies come in all shapes and sizes. They hook their slimy claws into minds and quietly wait to pounce when least expected. Lies cause us to believe things that aren’t true about ourselves, our situation, and about others. Lies get us to behave in ways we shouldn’t. Lies keep us from healing. Lies keep us miserable. Lies keep us from relationships with people. Lies keep us from a relationship with God.

So, I’ve been wondering … what started the lie? What lies do you believe about yourself, others, or your situation? You don’t have to feed the monster.

Kick out the lie monster, squash, starve, and annihilate the lies with God’s truth! And, The Truth will set you free.

Heavenly Father, help me to know Your truth so that I won’t fall for the lies of the enemy. Thank You that Your truth sets me free!

“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, ‘You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ~ John 8:31-32 (NLT)
