Next time
Desperate to be free, I fought and screamed. Awakened by my cries, my sweet husband gently shook me awake. I had been trapped in a dream, imprisoned by demon arms, trapped and couldn’t escape. Three times that night the enemy had attacked. I escaped the first two, but couldn’t seem to escape the last on my own. Finally free, I shuddered in the night, pressed tight in my strong husband’s arms.
Satan whispered, taunted, “Next time you will be alone. Next time you won’t get away.”
The devil is a liar. He preys on vulnerable moments, kicks while we are down, then screeches his lies in our ears, minds, and nightmares.
The truth is, we are never alone. No matter what happens next time, God is always in that time.
And, if you have messed up “that” time or “this” time, remember God is God for all times. God makes all things new. God redeems all time. He is a stronghold, strong tower, rescuer, redeemer, and restorer. He is always with you. God will never leave or forsake you. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, saves for all eternity, and for all time you are forever free in His love.
No weapon, no demonic attack, no nightmare, no matter what happens next time, our times are in the hands of our all-mighty God.
Heavenly Father, help me to stand firm on the truth that Your unfailing love surrounds me. You will keep me safe against all enemy attacks. The battles may rage, but You are always with me and You have won the final war. Thank You that You make all things new and Your mercies are new every morning. Keep my mind clearly focused on You. In all times, help me to trust and rest in You knowing I am safe and sound forever in Your love.
“…I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.” ~ Psalm 31:14-16 (NIV)
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting.…” ~ Psalm 138:7-8 (NASB)
“The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” ~ Psalm 9:9 (NASB)
“Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life; don’t for a minute lose sight of them. They’ll keep your soul alive and well, they’ll keep you fit and attractive. You’ll travel safely, you’ll neither tire nor trip. You’ll take afternoon naps without a worry, you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep. No need to panic over alarms or surprises, or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner, Because God will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound.” ~Proverbs 3:21-26 (MSG)
