Have you ever hesitated to do something because you didn’t think the impact would be very good or lasting? Or, you worked at something and didn’t see a return for all the time and money you invested? Is it just me?

I wonder, how far will we go when we don’t know how far it will go? Will we give what little we have to God, trusting that He will take our small offering and make something amazing?

2000 years ago, a crowd of people came to Jesus. “When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?’ He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. Philip answered him, ‘It would take more than half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!’ Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, ‘Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?’”

Jesus took the small offering, gave thanks, and distributed enough food for 5000 men along with women and children with twelve baskets left over.

So many times, I wonder if what I offer will make a difference. I wonder if the time spent, the love given, the effort made, will be of any worth and go any distance. Yet, then I remember all things are possible with God, and our God does exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask or imagine. What is given to Jesus always is resurrected, transformed, recreated, made new, and multiplied in wonderful ways.

Give God what you have, give Him your love, give Him your life, and watch the amazing things, the incredible ways, God will use what you offer Him.
