Reaching out
A loved one was in the midst of many struggles. During a time of prayer, I visualized my arm reaching toward them in prayer. Although they live far away, my prayers are not bound by distance, time, or space.
I knew my sweet husband was also praying, and I imagined my husband’s arm come over mine, reaching further toward our loved one.
The verse came to mind, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” ~ Matthew 18:20 (NASB)
I realized, as we prayed, Jesus was joining us. His strong mighty arm reached over ours grasping the hand of our loved one. My arms and my husband’s arms cannot reach across the country or around the world, but our Heavenly Father has eternal, unfailing, limitless, all-powerful, loving arms. “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.” ~ Isaiah 59:1 (NASB)
The enemy may try to grab at us, claw at our loved ones, but remember what Jesus said… “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” ~ John 10:27-29 (NASB)
Reach out in person, reach out in love, and reach out in prayer. For, “the heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].” ~ James 5:16 (AMP)
Reach out, friends. Keep reaching out.
“…You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’ Do not fear, … I will help you,” declares the Lord, and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. … you will rejoice in the Lord, You will glory in the Holy One of Israel. … I, the Lord, will answer them Myself, as the God of Israel I will not forsake them. …That they may see and recognize, and consider and gain insight as well, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.” ~ Isaiah 41:9-20 (NASB)
