Reaching out
Concerned for a loved one in the midst of many struggles, I went to God in prayer. While I prayed, I visualized my arm reaching toward my loved one, knowing although they live far away, my prayers are not bound by distance, time, or space.
I knew my sweet husband was also praying, and I imagined my husband’s arm coming over mine, reaching further toward our loved one. The verse came to mind, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst” (Matthew 18:20, NASB).
I realized, as we prayed, Jesus joined us. His strong mighty arm reached over ours grasping the hand of our loved one. My arms, and my husband’s arms, cannot reach across the country or around the world, but our Heavenly Father has eternal, unfailing, limitless, all-powerful, loving arms.
The enemy may try to grab at us, claw at our loved ones, but remember what Jesus said… “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” (John 10:27-29, NASB).
Reach out in prayer (as Moses did) for those who have turned from the Lord. The Israelites had turned their backs on God, “but Moses, his chosen one, stood before him and stopped God’s anger from destroying them” (Psalm 106: 21, 23).
Will you stand in the gap for your loved ones, for those who are lost?
Reach out in person, reach out in love, and reach out in prayer. For, “the heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power]” (James 5:16, AMP).
Reach out, friends. Keep reaching out. Your prayers are boundless and unlimited in the boundless love and unlimited power of our amazing God.
Heavenly Father, I’m reaching out in prayer for my loved one. I’m reaching out to You because Your arm is long enough and strong enough to reach anyone. Thank You that You are powerful enough and mighty enough to break through any stronghold or sin, for nothing is impossible for You. Father, please touch my loved one’s life and bring them back to You.
Please bring the lost ones into Your loving presence. Open eyes blinded by the devil and melt stone hearts, so they will turn to You and receive the eternal joy of You.
I ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who is our Savior. Amen.
God’s Timeless Truth
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1, NASB).
God gently reassures, “…You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’ Do not fear, … I will help you,” declares the Lord, and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. … you will rejoice in the Lord, You will glory in the Holy One of Israel. … I, the Lord, will answer them Myself, as the God of Israel I will not forsake them. …That they may see and recognize, and consider and gain insight as well, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.” (Isaiah 41:9-20, NASB).
