Election thoughts
Election year is often nasty and this one has proved rather intense. Please pray for God’s truth. Please pray for the candidates, whether you are Democrat, Republican, or Independent. Please pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. Please pray we will remember that God is in control regardless of who wins a political office.
Please pray for unity for our country. Please pray we will place our hope first and foremost in God, and our country (and we) will always keep our eyes on God.
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Heavenly Father, Our country so needs Your guidance. We so need Your truth. You know the truth. You know each candidates heart and You know the needs of our country. Show us the way Father. Guide us in our voting. Help us all to pray for our country. And when the election ends, help us to continue in prayer for Your guidance and wisdom for those You have placed in authority over us.
Father, I pray for unity among Your body. Help us as Christians to love one another. Thank you for my precious family-in-Christ. Please Father help us to keep our eyes on You. You are the answer not any political party. You are the answer and we praise You forever. Thank You that our true and eternal citizenship is in heaven with You.
