Eclipse
Across the United States on August 21, 2017 the sun will be blocked by the moon in an eclipse. Even though warnings are issued for eye safety for those who will be viewing the phenomena, people are flocking from around the world to the areas in the country with the best view.
I’ve read many predictions concerning the eclipse, that it may mean judgement is falling on America, and I wonder if the eclipse is like a signal flare for our country to wake up and return to God.
The eclipse will block the sun, perhaps this is a visual reminder that we need to make sure sin doesn’t block our relationship with God and His Son. We can marvel at what will take place in the sky, but let’s make certain as the sun turns dark in our land that we examine to make sure the Son isn’t dark in our lives.
I don’t know when God will judge our country and our world, but I know judgement is coming. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate, don’t think you have plenty of time, for no one knows the day when the Lord will return. If you are living in sin, living in ways that do not honor God, turn back to God, come home to Him and He will forgive.
Please as the sun turns dark on August 21st, remember that time is short. God’s love is here now, but please don’t wait until there is no more time.
“Look, the Lord’s day of judging is coming—a terrible day, a day of God’s anger. He will destroy the land and the sinners who live in it. The stars will not show their light; the skies will be dark. The sun will grow dark as it rises, and the moon will not give its light. The Lord says, ‘I will punish the world for its evil and wicked people for their sins. I will cause proud people to lose their pride, and I will destroy the pride of those who are cruel to others.” ~ Isaiah 13:9-11 (NCV)
Therefore, please… “seek the Lord while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby! The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.” ~ Isaiah 55:6-7 (NET Bible)
Be one who follows Jesus, who loves and obeys Him, so that even during the eclipse… “Darkness now covers the earth; deep darkness covers her people. But the Lord shines on you, and people see his glory around you.” ~ Isaiah 60:2 (NCV)
