Don’t camp there
Is there a place in your life where you can’t seem to move forward? With all the horrible, nasty stuff that comes our way, it’s easy to get stuck in the pain, the lost dreams, the loss, the terrible thing that happened.
In Exodus 14, the Israelites are trapped at the Red Sea complaining to Moses about their ultimate demise by the hands of the pursuing Egyptians. Moses tells the people to stand still and God would fight for them. However, God responds and asks Moses “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.” Other Bible versions have “move forward,” “break camp,” “get moving!”
When the Israelites were camped at the Red Sea, they couldn’t see any way to move forward. What looked like a completely impossible situation with no hope for rescue, no hope for a future, God turned into a miraculous life-saving, life-changing event.
To move forward to something new, you have to exit the old. Beyond your Red Sea difficulties, lay the promised land. Let God lead you to the other side. No matter what has happened in your life, what problems you faced or whatever you face at present, you don’t have to stay camped at that spot. Move forward with God. He will lead in the way you should go, the life-saving, life-changing way.
Don’t camp on your achievements, or lack of achievements, move forward “… focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” ~ Philippians 3:13 (NLT)
Break camp. On the other side of your broken places, the mountain of problems, trust God to lead you to the other side. “…the Lord our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on. Go…” ~ Deuteronomy 1:6-7 (NLT)
Break camp. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
Jesus calls, beckons for you to break camp and release your burdens to Him, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.” ~ Matthew 11:28 (AMPC)
God is a miracle working God, nothing is too hard for Him. Nothing is impossible for God. Break camp and move forward through the power, mercy, grace, healing, redeeming, and restoration of our amazing Savior, Jesus Christ.
