Stability

Posted on October 5, 2020 by Lisa BuffaloeDecember 15, 2020

In areas where earthquakes are prevalent, many cities require large buildings to install a form of shock absorbers in their foundations to help provide additional stability. Right now, our world is shaking with Covid, riots, anger, political unrest, and a myriad of problems, and life is hard for so many people. Yet there is a place, a person, where we have eternal, unmoving stability. Jesus Christ is the solid rock, our firm foundation. God is the eternal Father, unfailing, immovable, unchangeable, and forever love.

Jesus Christ came from love out of love. Christ is the way, the truth, the life, He is the way of love from our loving heavenly Father to our loving heavenly Father. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” ~ John 3:16-17 (NASB)

His hold on you, on your precious soul, is always firm and always loving. Jesus promised, “I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands. My Father, who has given them to me as his gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father’s care.” ~ John 10:28-29 (TPT)

The world shakes, but Jesus says “Come to Me and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). The storms rage and the wind blows, but Jesus says, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39). Read the Bible, God’s word, stay in the word, stay with the Word, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

Christ is our peace in every difficulty we may face. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. . . . in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” ~ John 14:27 (NASB), John 16:33 (AMPC)

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you. Therefore, we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with its turmoil.” ~ Isaiah 41:10, 13 (HCSB), Psalm 46:2-3 (HCSB)

Remember Whose you are, and stand firm in the eternal love of Christ. “Surely the Lord’s power is enough to save you. He can hear you when you ask him for help.” ~ Isaiah 59:1 (NCV)

The unstable world needs to know the grace, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus Christ, please share the good news of His tender, eternally stable love.

“I love you, Lord. You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior. My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender. I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I will be saved from my enemies. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken.” ~ Psalm 18:1-3 (NCV), Psalm 62:6 (HCSB)

Our very last breath

Posted on September 22, 2020 by Lisa BuffaloeSeptember 22, 2020

John Harper, a widower and preacher, was aboard the Titanic in 1912 when an iceberg scraped and ripped open the ship’s hull. John was traveling with his six-year-old daughter and his relative, Jessie Leitch. He quickly got Jessie and his daughter on a lifeboat while shipmates assured everyone the Titanic couldn’t sink. Yet documented reports tell of John yelling for the women, children, and unsaved to get into the lifeboats.

As the boat sank, John along with over 1500 people went into the icy waters. He was then seen frantically swimming from person to person trying to lead them to Christ. One young man was clinging to debris and John asked him if was saved. He replied he was not, John tried to lead him to Christ without success, and John gave the man his life vest telling him he needed it more than he did. John then swam away to other people. A few minutes later John returned pleading again for him to accept Christ.

Out of all those people in the frigid waters that night only six were rescued. That young man was one of them. At a survivor’s meeting four years later, in tears, he told of how John Harper had led him to Christ. He also reported that “Mr. Harper had tried to swim back to help other people, yet because of the intense cold, had grown too weak to swim. His last words before going under in the frigid waters were “Believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.”

Our world is drowning in the darkness of sin, will we be like John Harper willing to pass our life-vest of Jesus Christ, use our words, our very last breath, to tell others who Christ is, to point those living in darkness to The Light, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). For, “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him” (John 3:16-17).
