A Pause for Peace

Jesus beckons, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] . . . Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” ~ Matthew 11:28 (AMPC), John 14:27 (AMP)

“…in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” And, “I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.” ~ John 16:33 (AMPC), Matthew 28:20b (AMP)

Thank You, God that “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].” For “The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.” ~ Isaiah 26:3 (AMP), Psalm 29:11 (AMPC)

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7 (Living Bible)

Therefore, “In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.” ~ Psalm 4:8 (AMP)

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes]. The Lord [be] with you all.” ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (AMPC)

Hope for the future

2021 is around the corner, and only God knows what is in store for each of us. However, with our wonderful God we always have hope for the future.

“… this is what the Lord says, … ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; this is what the Lord says, He who makes a way through the sea and a path through the mighty waters….

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives strength to the weary, and to the one who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

“Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. … Do not call to mind the former things, or consider things of the past. “… for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. Stability

In areas where earthquakes are prevalent, many cities require large buildings to install a form of shock absorbers in their foundations to help provide additional stability. Right now, our world is shaking with Covid, riots, anger, political unrest, and a myriad of problems, and life is hard for so many people. Yet there is a place, a person, where we have eternal, unmoving stability. Jesus Christ is the solid rock, our firm foundation. God is the eternal Father, unfailing, immovable, unchangeable, and forever love.

Jesus Christ came from love out of love. Christ is the way, the truth, the life, He is the way of love from our loving heavenly Father to our loving heavenly Father. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” ~ John 3:16-17 (NASB)

His hold on you, on your precious soul, is always firm and always loving. Jesus promised, “I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands. My Father, who has given them to me as his gift, is the mightiest of all, and no one has the power to snatch them from my Father’s care.” ~ John 10:28-29 (TPT)

The world shakes, but Jesus says “Come to Me and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). The storms rage and the wind blows, but Jesus says, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39). Read the Bible, God’s word, stay in the word, stay with the Word, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

Christ is our peace in every difficulty we may face. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. . . . in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you. Therefore, we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with its turmoil.” ~ Isaiah 41:10, 13 (HCSB), Psalm 46:2-3 (HCSB)

Remember Whose you are, and stand firm in the eternal love of Christ. “Surely the Lord’s power is enough to save you. He can hear you when you ask him for help.” ~ Isaiah 59:1 (NCV)

The unstable world needs to know the grace, forgiveness, and mercy of Jesus Christ, please share the good news of His tender, eternally stable love. 

“I love you, Lord. You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior. My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender. I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I will be saved from my enemies. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken.” ~ Psalm 18:1-3 (NCV), Psalm 62:6 (HCSB)
