Thanksgiving, more than a holiday

Posted on November 23, 2024 by Lisa BuffaloeNovember 23, 2024

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday. The word Thanksgiving brings smiles to many, sadness to others. It’s a word associated with a holiday with images of Norman Rockwell paintings of family sharing food and laughter around a bountiful table. But the images aren’t real for most. Families are scattered by distance, painful memories, sin, death, and heartache. And holidays only make many hearts depressed and lonely.

Please know, never forget, that Thanksgiving is a word that means so much more. Thanksgiving is a word that brings joy in spite of the realities of pain and loneliness. Thanksgiving is a thankful heart for the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Savior who comes to live in hearts that have felt distanced, have painful memories, deal with sin, have had the death of dreams and loved ones, and felt the pain of heartache. Jesus comes inside hearts and lives, and restores, and redeems, and never leaves, and always loves.

Thanksgiving replaces emotions with reality, the reality of a life that is eternal, that rises the soul above the painfulness and frailty of life.

If your life is good, be thankful!

If your life is hard and miserable, thank God He will help you through and never leave you. There is always something for which to be thankful.

Please know, never forget, even during times of loneliness our tender God is there to hold you close, sit quietly with you, and love you through the sadness of any day. You are never alone, never alone.

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday, thanksgiving is a lifestyle. And the more we style our life on thankfulness, the more our eyes are open to see God’s blessings, provision, faithfulness, and love.

Be thankful, for you are eternally and unfailingly loved!

Thanksgiving is a lifestyle

“In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.” ~ Exodus 15:13

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.” ~ Psalm 107:8

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” ~ Psalm 13:5

“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” ~ Psalm 36:7

A new cover for Prodigal Nights

Posted on November 15, 2024 by Lisa BuffaloeNovember 15, 2024

Hi, friends!

I’ve hired the fabulous JoAnn Durgin to make my recent book covers and rework a few of my older covers.

To celebrate the new cover for Prodigal Nights, the eBook on Amazon is free to purchase or read via Kindle Unlimited from 11/15/24 – 11/19/24. https://amzn.to/4hPFQVp

Although Prodigal Nights is part of the Hope and Grace Series, the novel can also be read as a standalone.

Can they find the grace they think they no longer deserve?

After a nasty divorce, Bethany Davis returned to college and lived up to the low standards set by the gossips.
Her dad’s stroke has now brought her home, but bodyguards, stalkers, and international secrets are the least of her problems.

Jason’s days of wild living are over, and he’s determined to prove to himself and God that he’s on the right path.
When Bethany steps into his office, he sees the girl of his dreams, but is she God’s gift or Satan’s temptress?

Join Bethany and Jason for a fun, fast-paced, wild ride straight to the heart of grace.

“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” (Isaiah 44:22, NIV)

Lisa’s latest release — Mia Lets Go

Mia Lets Go

Mystery writer Jim Petterson hadn’t planned on his line of work. He’d been reasonably content as a college professor, but after his wife left him for another man, he’d been ready for a change. In the middle of the night, the thought just came to him, and ten years ago, he jumped into a new career.

Now, he needed to figure out how to kill someone and make it look like an accident. He’d done this kind of thing many times before but needed new ideas, and his friend, Chester, promised he knew the perfect person to help.

With all Mia Burns had been through over the years, she was lucky her body continued to function. She’d been shot, stabbed, and beaten to a pulp. Being strong came in handy, and her multi-ethnic background allowed her to easily blend into most situations. However, now that she was older, the work that took her around the world was getting more difficult.

Mia’s close friends knew what she’d once done for a living, but she couldn’t risk that becoming common knowledge because, in Crawdad Beach, she’d found the home she’d never known.

Can Mia trust God enough to let go of her past and step into her future?

Book 7 of the Crawdad Beach Series.

As my first-fruit offering to the Lord the eBook will be free on Amazon 10/25/24 – 10/29/24  Order on Amazon for #Free — https://amzn.to/4hnm43p
