The Best Ever

Posted on July 25, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeDecember 21, 2023

God wants more for you. God has much more planned—more now in our lives and in the lives of others—more here and more in heaven. God is a God of pressed down, shaken, free-flowing, abundant living.

God wants the best for you, to bring the best out of you, to bring the best to you.

Neil Anderson wrote, “Your faith is only as great as your knowledge of the object of your faith. If you have little knowledge of God and His Word, you will have little faith.”

Jeremiah 15:16 tells us that God’s word is heart-delighting joy.

Know God and His word, not just snippets but get to know the heart of The Author. For in knowing and believing God, holding fast to His teachings, knowing His love, experiencing His grace for ourselves and others, and in holding tightly to Him, we find freedom, guidance, and joyfully more of Him.

“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.’” ~ Isaiah 48:17 (NIV)

Jesus tells us to, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.” ~ Mark 4:24 (NLT)

Read the Bible, highlight areas about God’s character and love. Discover Who God is, why certain things happened, how He works, discover His heart, and you’ll discover the BEST EVER!

Living water

Posted on June 18, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeJune 18, 2019

Our yard, although watered, has been dry. The grass remained green, yet underneath the stems were hard and brittle. Last night the rains came, and the flowers blossomed doubling their size, the grass became soft and lush, and the trees stretched their branches skyward reaching to catch the heavenly blessing.

Our farmer friends pray for rain. They know irrigation can help, but rain from above does so much more. What God gives is always best.

A Samaritan woman needed rain, soul-deep, cleansing rain, and Jesus waited at the well to offer her the living water of His merciful freedom (John 4:1-42). Jesus said, “all who drink of this water will be thirsty again. But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life” (John 4:13-14, AMPC).

Jesus blesses with His living water that rains into our souls, cleansing, refreshing, restoring, redeeming, and sprouting new life. “He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, from his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water. But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive” (John 7:38-39, AMPC).

His Holy Spirit living-water flows in us, splashing through us to those around us, bringing fertile life. “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.” “… the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest” (Isaiah 44:3, ESV), (Isaiah 32:15, ESV).

Are you thirsty? Jesus offers living water to parched souls, quenching every thirst. The Living Water Jesus offers isn’t like a colander that drains away, His Living Water fills to the brim and overflows, continuously flowing in, hydrating souls with His love, goodness, and mercy. Come to the Living Water, dive in, and dive deep into His cleansing, refreshing, unfailing love.

Waiters not watchers

Posted on May 15, 2019 by Lisa BuffaloeMay 15, 2019

“Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes.  In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, and withered, waiting for the moving of the waters; for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.] A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, ‘Do you wish to get well?’ The sick man answered Him, ‘Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Get up, pick up your pallet and walk.’ Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk’” (John 5:2-9, NASB).

Those who sat at the pool waited for an angel to stir the waters. They were waiting for one thing, but they were not watching for the Savior, the Healer. Jesus stood among them and yet not one cried out for healing, not one person reached out to touch hem of His robe. Not one asked for His mercy. Had they become so isolated they didn’t know about Jesus or were they so without hope they didn’t even try? I wonder had these people become a band of brothers — the sick sitting with the sick, without hope, uncomfortably comfortable in their discomfort?

Please don’t make what happened to you, the tragedy in your life, the illness in your life, the loss in your life, become bigger than the Savior in your life.

Jesus the One who said, “The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity]” (Luke 4:18, AMPC).

Are you waiting? Please don’t miss watching for the Savior.

Jesus is waiting for you. He sees you, He knows your need, He knows your brokenness, He knows what troubles your mind and your body. Jesus is the One who was tempted in every way but never sinned, the One who suffered for you, who died on the cross for you, who rose from the grave to conquer sin and death. He knows your temptations, He knows your frailties, He understands your pain. Jesus is the One who reaches out with a nail-scarred hand to those who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity and asks, “Do you wish to get well?”

Watch for Jesus and remember “If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. For nothing will be impossible with God” (John 8:36, (Luke 1:37, NASB).

Jesus, I’ve been waiting. “I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning” (Psalm 130:5-6, NASB).

Thank You that nothing is impossible for you. Nothing in my life is beyond Your healing touch. Nothing I face, nothing I have faced in the past, nothing that will come in the future is too big for You. “Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14, NASB).

Jesus, I’m watching for You. “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me” (Psalm 121:2, Psalm 30:2, NASB).
