Burning the hindrances
I felt SO hindered. Miserably hindered. Whiny, needy, MISERABLY hindered. I couldn’t figure out some of the things hindering and burdening my soul. So, I wrote down the things that were concerning me. Then I prayed over them, gave them to the Lord, ripped them up, and placed them in a candle flame.
I watched the paper burn, and I prayed and released them to God. And I felt relieved. Free. Lighter. Cleaner.
Is something burdening or hindering you? May I humbly suggest talking with God and then giving Him those burdens? God wants you to be unhindered. He’s waiting and ready to shoulder every concern and rid every hindrance. Burn the hindrances in the flame of God’s love.
“Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” … “Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.” … “Therefore, also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored].” ~ Psalm 55:22 (NASB), Matthew 11:29-30 (AMPC), Joel 2:12 (AMP)
