What if you knew the worst thing, the very worst thing in your life, would lead to something amazing for you and for others?
The worst thing can be the best thing. Like Joseph told his brothers in Genesis 50:20 “you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is being done, the saving of many lives.”
We only see through human eyes, through our own filters, and our own hopes and dreams. We can’t see the unseen, what will happen in the future, which way the journey will lead, but God knows. The relationship that God seemed to block was blocked to keep you from more heartache. The “no” God gave you, was because He had better for you.
Many of the worst things in my life have been used by God to bring comfort, hope, and healing to others. The messy, hard, heart-breaking, soul-crushing difficulties, became the best things as God healed and restored me and then used them to minister to others in His loving name.
Every problem is an opportunity to discover more of God and His power. Trials try and test us until we are refined and shine forth in God’s healing, restoration power. Setbacks provide a step up to step closer to God, His Word, and His truth.
Take your worst thing to God in prayer, give it to God, sacrifice it on His altar with praise (trusting, knowing) that God works all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). The One who died and rose again, will rise with new life for you.
If you are God’s child, He will take that thing, that very worst thing, and turn it into something new and amazing!
“The Lord says, ‘Forget what happened before, and do not think about the past. Look at the new thing I am going to do. It is already happening. Don’t you see it? The One who was sitting on the throne said, ‘Look! I am making everything new!’ For you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19 (NCV), Revelation 21:5 (NCV), Malachi 4:2 (NLT)
