The Forgotten Resting Place

Posted on July 4, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeSeptember 28, 2020

“My people have been lost sheep. … They have roamed from one mountain and hill to another. They have forgotten their resting place.” ~ Jeremiah 50:6 (NET Bible)

Bad news, people angry and hurting, politicians battling and belittling, the media’s agenda leaning right or left, overwhelming life difficulties, and the world seems to have gone stark-raving crazy. Are you looking for a safe place to take a deep breath and find rest? Truth, hope, and encouragement are found in the Bible. Find your resting place. Come aside, soak deep, and linger in this five-session study of God’s word.

Session One video…

See the good

Posted on June 28, 2018 by Lisa BuffaloeJune 28, 2018

The world is a dark place. People angry, ranting and raving. Sometimes it’s hard to see the good.

Fortunately, we do have a choice. We have a choice with what we watch, what we read, what we allow our minds to dwell upon. We have a choice how we live and what we choose to see.

Good things are happening. Good people exist. Good is all around us. Look to Christ, read His word, remember our good God is always in control.

Never give up, because God will never give up on you. God will never fail you for His love is unfailing. The Lord is good and His lovingkindness is everlasting (Psalm 136:1). Focus on Jesus, remember He is always good, fix your thoughts and your mind on His goodness.

Live in a way that others will see the good of Christ within you so that you may shine as a bright light, a beacon of hope in this dark world (Philippians 2:15).

Live so that the light of Christ shines bright with His joy, love, and peace. Show the good of Christ to a world so needing the good glory of Christ.

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16 (NASB)

May those who see the good of Jesus within us excitedly ask, “we wish to see Jesus” (John 12:21).
