“Lisa Buffaloe has done it again! She has written a sweet love and life story I couldn’t put down! A Found Joy is not just a love story with a touch of mystery but is a novel full of beautiful Biblical advice about dealing with fear. This is a great read, especially for those struggling with fear and anxiety in our troubled world. It is absolutely not preachy, just very down to earth practical guidance woven into a sweet story. Change the focus

Posted on June 17, 2025 by Lisa BuffaloeAugust 30, 2025

The other day I posted a smiling photo of myself to update my Facebook profile. The outward picture does not show what is happening inside.

Because of my neck problems, the surgeon grimly informed me that a four-level surgery offered no guarantee of pain relief. Since then, I’ve had numerous pain injections, Medical Branch blocks, and an ablation to destroy the neck nerves. The last procedure blessed with several weeks of wonderful total relief. Praise the Lord! I give thanks that I have a stand-up desk to use while I write, keeping my posture straight and relieving neck strain. Thank God, I have days I don’t need pain medication.

Nothing happening inside my body is visual to others.

You have your own hidden pain and sorrow. I’m so sorry. Life is hard, difficult, and, at times, agonizing.

Many deal with things no one knows about—unseen physical and mental pain, grief, pain from past issues, pain from today’s issues, and prayers yet to be answered. My problems are nothing compared to what others face.

Yet, Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow, that He will never leave or forsake us. Count it all joy, James wrote. Rejoice always and pray without ceasing, advised Paul. Peter wrote to cast all your anxiety on God, because He cares about you.

Their advice isn’t always easy. Yet, what we are told has power. Praying, casting our cares on the Lord, rejoicing, trusting and relying on God, and turning to the Lord, shifts our focus off our difficulties and suffering where we find God’s presence, joy, and peace.

Whatever happens in the future, Jesus will be with you. Continue to pray, and cast your troubles on God’s broad, loving shoulders, remembering that He cares for you and is always in control. Count it all joy because God works all things to the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Praise God for the incredible number of body parts that work every moment without pain and for the myriad of ways He lovingly watches over you. Rejoice because God’s got you safe in the palm of His loving hands. God is the great healer, and He is loving, kind, compassionate, caring, comforting, and will be with you whatever comes.

Therefore, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy is everlasting. (Philippians 4:6-7, Psalm 106:1)

Prayer when the enemy comes like a flood

Posted on June 1, 2025 by Lisa BuffaloeSeptember 4, 2025

If the enemy is coming against you like a flood, run to God. Run to His word, for Jesus tells us His truth sets us free. As we read God’s word, meditate on His truth, we find answers, strength, wisdom, and the reality of who we are in God and the might of His power that works within us.

The enemy doesn’t want you to read the Bible, and he sure doesn’t want you speaking God’s word. Take God’s word, apply it to your life, and speak His truth that sets free.

Whatever battle you personally face, find the word of God to help you get through. God will never leave you or forsake you. In Christ, you are seated in the heavenlies, therefore, you have the power of heaven with you. When Satan came to tempt Jesus, Jesus used the word of God. Scripture has power, use it and let God’s power set you free.

Using scripture, I’ve compiled a prayer for those in the flood. If you would be willing, read, recite, and pray.

Heavenly Father, the enemy has come against me like a flood. I praise and worship You for You are my strong tower, deliverer, and my rescuer. Thank You that I am always safe in Your hand, for no one can snatch me out of Your hand. You are my rock in the midst of the flood. I resist the devil and cling to You, Father. Show me Your treasures in the darkness. Help me to rest in Your peace that flows like a river, with Your peace, the peace that passes understanding.

Thank You that You lift up a standard against the enemy. You, Father, draw me out of many waters. You promise to intercede in my time of trouble and distress with the enemy. Thank You, Father. You are my refuge.

Thank You that Your truth, Your word is what sets me free. Thank You that nothing is impossible for You.

Thank You that You have redeemed me, I am Yours. Thank You when I pass through the waters, You will be with me, and when I go through the rivers, they will not overflow me. When I walk through the fires, I won’t be scorched or burnt, for You are with me. You are my God, the Holy One of Israel, my Savior.

I put on the full armor of God to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. My struggle isn’t against flesh and blood. God, with Your armor I will be able to resist in the evil day and stand firm. I’ll stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, my feet wear the gospel of peace, and my shield of faith is raised to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

With You, I will be as a pillar of iron. Father, I know You cause all things to work together for the good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Thank You. I will be alert, stand firm in the faith and be strong. I will observe Your commandments, walk in Your ways, hold fast to You, and serve You with all my heart and soul. Your Words are imbedded and rooted in my soul, and I will hold fast and bear fruit with perseverance.

I will be strong and courageous, not afraid or trembling because You Lord are the One who goes with me. You will not fail or forsake me and You are with me wherever I go. You are greater than anyone or anything and You help and fight in my battles. Praise You!

Thank You that You hold my hand. You are my hiding place, You preserve me from trouble, and You surround me with songs of deliverance. You are my dwelling place and underneath are Your everlasting arms. You drive out the enemy before you and say, ‘Destroy!’. Thank You that no weapon forged against me will prosper and every tongue that accuses me in judgement, You will condemn. Thank You that my vindication is from You.

For by You I run through a troop, by You I leap over a wall. Your way is perfect, Your word is tried and true. You are a shield, I trust and take refuge in You, for You are a rock who hides away the sound and godly. You are my shield and You preserve me. For You love justice and do not forsake Your children.

You watch over all who love You. And because I love you, You will deliver me and set me securely on high because I know Your name. I will call upon You, and You will answer and be with me in trouble, rescue, and honor me. You are faithful, God, and You will strengthen and protect me from the evil one.

You are my strong tower, and I will run to You and be safe. You are my rock, fortress, and my deliverer in whom I take refuge. You are the shield, power, and stronghold.

I will cast my burden on You because You care for me. You will never allow me to be moved for You are my rock and salvation, my stronghold, I will not be shaken. My strength and refuge is in You.

The flood of great waters will not reach me for You are my hiding place, You preserve me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Bless You, Lord! You train my hands for war and my fingers for battle. You are my lovingkindness, my fortress, my stronghold, deliverer, shield in whom I take refuge.

Oh Father, stretch forth Your hand from on high and rescue and deliver me out of great waters. You are my stronghold and the rock of my refuge. I will trust in You and not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge You for You will make my paths straight.

When I lie down I will not be afraid, my sleep will be sweet. I won’t be afraid of the wicked, for You, Lord, are my confidence, and You will keep my foot from being caught. I will never be shaken, I will not fear evil tidings, my heart is steadfast as I trust in You. Because I trust in You, I will be like a tree planted by the water, extending my roots into Your stream. I will not fear during the heat, I will not be anxious, and as I trust in You my leaves will stay green and always bring forth Your fruit.

As I listen to You, Lord, I live secure and at ease from the dread of evil. For You have put more joy in my heart than any food or drink. In the safety of You, I will lie down and sleep in peace.

I dwell in the shelter of the Most High and, therefore, abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!’ For it is You who delivers me from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. You cover me with Your pinions, and under Your wings I seek refuge; Your faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. I will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not approach me. I will only look on with my eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For I have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, my dwelling place. No evil will befall me, nor will any plague come near my tent. For You will give Your angels charge concerning me, to guard me in all my ways. They will bear me up in their hands, so that I do not strike my foot against a stone. I will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent I will trample down. Because I have loved You, God, therefore You will deliver me and set me securely on high, because I know Your name. I will call upon You, and You will answer me; You will be with me in trouble; You will rescue me and honor me. With a long life, You will satisfy me and let me see Your salvation.

I lift my eyes to the mountains; from where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Father, You will not allow my foot to slip; You do not slumber nor sleep. You are my keeper; You are the shade on my right hand. The sun will not smite me by day, nor the moon by night. You, Lord, will protect me from all evil; You will keep my soul. You will guard my going out and my coming in from this time forth and forever.

Thank You, Father! I love You!
