The Summons

I received a summons notice to be available for Federal jury duty in for the entire month of July. Every Friday afternoon, I must call a court recorded message to see if I will be serving on the following Monday morning. Fortunately, I was granted a request to have the week off for an already booked flight to Texas to see family.

Scrambling like crazy, I edited my prerecorded shows for Living Joyfully Free for July, then wrote blog and audio posts and placed them in the queue. Guests waiting to be interviewed were placed on hold until August.

I couldn’t plan anything. I had to stop.

The summons may have come from the court system, but the blessing came from above. God has used this interruption to interrupt my hurried and harried schedule. He’s blessed me by prying me away from the busyness of working on good things to focus on the best – HIM.

I was missing God and missing His blessings. My focus has been refocused on God and off what I can do for God. I can breathe again as I pause to breathe in from His Holy Spirit. My ears have been unstopped to hear His voice.

I have been summoned and my soul has answered His call.
