God who created the Heavens and earth, who calms the seas, drives out demons, takes a handful of bread and fish and feeds thousands, that same God will do exceedingly more than you can ever ask or imagine. 

Whatever you face, whatever mountains loom ahead, God is bigger. God has more planned, more excitement, and more joy for the journey. God doesn’t create us only to live, but to abundant, free-flowing, everlasting life! 

With God there is always more than we can imagine –more grace, more power, more love, more strength, and more possibilities in the impossibilities of life. 

With God, not just some, not just a little, but much, much BIGGER things are planned for here and for eternity. 

For with God ALL things are possible.

Dying to self = Self-sacrifice that yields unfettered, undeterred, unhindered free-flowing movement of God’s Spirit.

Surrender is a pressing into God, a spotlight on areas, a relinquishing of the past, today, and the future. It is a prying off of fingers, the letting go, allowing a freefall knowing the fall will lead to death. Death of self, death to self, and death to the fears of what was and what could be.

Surrender is freedom. Because in death comes life.

The thorn bush bears roses.

The desert yields a crop.

Our healing leads to the healing of others.

Surrender yields life.

I wonder how often I miss the joy-filled life. And miss the experience of living completely abandoned to God, breathing in God’s Holy Spirit so that I may fully breathe life.

Living in the joy of Jesus. Living in the joy of the Lord. Living with a heart of gratitude. Living in appreciation of all God has done and is doing.

I don’t want to miss the life that God longs to freely give. I don’t want to miss His blessings. I don’t want to miss His joy!

Heavenly Father I don’t want to miss Your joy. I want to embrace this life You have given me – fully living every moment in the joy of You. Not letting time waste through hesitation, looking back, worrying, or the anxiety of the world. I want to love deep with Your unfailing love. I want to live in Your joy! I want to die to self, to fully live in Christ. I give You total access in me, so that I may live completely in the joy of You.

Have you ever watched a cross-country race? At the starting line, people gather to cheer the bounty of runners. Yet as the journey lengthens, the well-wishers decrease and are only sporadic. Perhaps through towns there will be those who give refreshment and encouragement to the racers. However there are mountains to climb, deserts to cross, and the way gets more lonely and difficult. The pack of runners stretches out as the strong pass the weak, and companionship is virtually non-existent. 

Competitors have countless motivations for running the race. Some want the cool t-shirt or bragging rights that they competed. Others are running to prove something to themselves or others. Then there are the few, who run to win the prize. They won’t give up, they won’t stop, they won’t be defeated, and they are determined to win. 

As Christians we are in a Cross-Time Race. We run in the grace shadow of the cross throughout our time granted on earth. However, we forget there are hardships to endure and trials to encounter. We prefer smooth roads with cheering crowds through every step. We balk when the deserts come and the mountains rise in front of us. And we moan and whine when encouragers are no longer there to encourage. 

We forget life is a moving journey. People will come and go in our lives. There will be moments we have encouragement and times when we feel all alone. It’s so tempting to want to keep running back to the starting line for support, but if we do, we can never move forward. Or if we refuse to leave the town that refreshed us the most, we will miss the rest of the amazing journey. 

Don’t give up, don’t lose hope, and don’t lose the perspective to press on. Press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling you. Press on friends, and run the race to win!

Jeanne has a passion to help people discover their gifts and talents that can be used for a Kingdom work. Her mission travel to Life Centers in other countries has inspired her to write many songs which have been recorded and used on the Life Today television programs. She has completed nine solo albums and eleven praise and worship recordings that were captured live in the James Robison Bible conferences. 

In recent years, God has expanded Jeanne’s ministry to speaking, teaching in different ministry events and leading discipleship classes for women at Milestone Church in Keller, Texas.  Jeanne continues to lead worship and sing for Life Outreach events. She loves hosting the Beth Moore tapings for Wednesday’s with Beth, a weekly feature on Life Today. 

Jeanne married Jim Rogers in 1968 who serves as the Executive Vice President of Life Outreach International. They have three sons who have all grown to faithfully serve the Lord, earn college degrees, settle into careers and marry godly young ladies. Jim and Jeanne have been blessed with eleven grandchildren.
