Whatever Is Required

Will you allow God to do whatever is necessary to prepare you for what He has planned for you and your family?
The question sat in my notebook waiting for my response, and I chewed on what I would answer for weeks. Part of me leapt for joy at the thought of being willing to go wherever God leads and doing whatever He requests. The less adventurous, cautious, fearful/earthly side, shrank away unsure what would be required.

What if?

What if? What if today you only were able to keep, that for which you were thankful? At the end of the day, what would remain?
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT).

Tubular Vision

I try to see things from the right perspective. However if I don’t filter life through the reality of God and His Word, I might as well be looking through binoculars made of toilet paper tubes. Heavenly Father, help me to remember to look to You and Your word before I take even one step, so that I may see my way clearly through life, and see life clearly through You.

Night Patrol

I blogged last week about the night watches, which made me wonder, what if every Christian who woke in the middle of the night spent that time in prayer? Not only would we become night watchmen, we would be on prayer patrol. In the still of the night, think of the amazing things that could happen. Think of the Godly angelic activities that would be bolstered. Our soul ears would be attentive to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in prayer. We could mediate on God’s goodness, His word, His love and care, and His unfailing devotion. Our hearts could sing praises thanking Him for the mercy and grace that grant us eternal life. Our souls patrolling, praising, meditating, and moving against the forces of evil. Evil bastions would be broken. Strongholds would be shattered. God’s angelic warriors unleashed to set captives free.So tonight if you wake, be excited! You’ve been chosen for God’s night patrol.
