Left Behind

What if today was your last day? What would your friends and family find in your house? Under your bed? In your storage areas?  On your music player?  On your recorded television shows? Would everything left behind point them to your Savior? www.lisabuffaloe.com

Would you be willing?

One of my friends asked what people thought about the rapture (Jesus returning for His believers). Would the rapture happen before the tribulation, during, or after? The replies were rather interesting. Several people took very firm stances. Each had their opinions on what they believed would happen to those who have a relationship with Christ during the end times. I’m not going to give you my thoughts. But I will pose some questions. Would you

Pedaling or Powering

I wonder how often I am truly aware of God’s power. I sit in my little proverbial push car, wearing myself out, determined to use all my strength and muscle my way through life. Ignoring, or only vaguely acknowledging, that God grants His power and His strength. The God Who took nothing and made everything. The God Whose power created the universe. The God Who knows the name of each star. The God Who offers eternal life. Hmmm… I think I’ll park the pedal car.

Father May I?

Did you ever play the game, “Mother May I”, or what some call “Captain May I”? One person would be the “Mother” or the “Captain.” That person would stand facing away from the other players – “children” or crewmembers.”

The players take turns asking “Mother/Captain, may I ____?” and makes a movement suggestion. For example, Johnny might ask, “Mother/Captain, may I take five steps forward?” The leader either replies “Yes, you may” or “No, you may not do that, but you may _____ instead” and inserts his/her own suggestion. Such as “Johnny you may take giant/regular/baby steps/scissor steps/bunny hops/frog leaps/ballet steps, forward or backward.”

Kneeling on Tiptoed Knees

Early on Saturday mornings I meet with a group of women to pray. No agenda is given other than to pray as God’s Spirit moves. We gather before God’s throne, and I can’t wait to see where God’s Spirit will lead. Often we wait in silence, listening to God’s Spirit and responding to the counsel of His Word. Praise, thanksgiving, and scripture float as voices are filled with joy or weep for those lost, ill, or hurting. Our prayers have winged across continents to pray for the persecuted church and covered those needing healing, help, or salvation. I visualize our group huddled together on knees before God’s throne, bringing our spirits before our Abba, Father.

Reason to Rejoice!

Easter is new life. Easter is God loving us enough to send His Son. Easter is Jesus Christ dying on the cross, buried for three days and rising again. Easter is an empty tomb. Easter is resurrection and new life. Easter is unfailing love and eternal hope.
Easter is Joy!

There Is Nothing

There is nothing I have given God He has not returned in abundance. There is nothing I have done, or been done to me, that God’s grace and mercy has not restored and redeemed. There is nothing I can offer God but me. And He takes my nothingness, tenderly cradles my heart, soothes and heals the scars, and binds the broken places with His love. There is nothing in this life without Him. There is

Why didn’t anyone believe?

Why did those who Jesus touched, fed, and healed, demand He be executed? Why did those who knew Jesus best not believe He would rise again? Why wasn’t anyone waiting in anticipation for His return? Was everyone so convinced Jesus came only to bring an earthly kingdom they couldn’t understand His death was only the beginning? Why didn’t anyone believe?
