Thought control

You know those thoughts that ambush from left field, the ones that seem to attack in the middle of the night? Or those thoughts that lead to contemplation on why a situation happened, or something we did wrong, or how someone wronged us–the ones that tailspin brains into a negative mess? Argh!

He’s here

I want you to know you are loved. Oh my friends, Christmas is joy. Your Savior is here, and grace and mercy are freely offered and freely given. Eternal hope is here. You are never alone. God is here! “…I am bringing you good news that will be a great joy to all the people. Today your Savior was born in the town of David. He is Christ, the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11 NCV). He’s here,

The gift of heaven

The holiday season is difficult for many people. Life didn’t turn out the way planned, jobs have been lost, loved ones won’t be with us, gifts won’t come and won’t be bought. Thankfully, Christmas isn’t about others and not about money or gifts.  Christmas is personal. Christmas is love. The embodiment of love wrapped in the soft, smooth skin of an infant. Unfortunately, my neck is a mess. Five out of seven of my discs are described with discouraging words such as degeneration, protrusion, bulging, desiccation, compression, kyphosis, indents the cord, severe bilateral foraminal narrowing.… But hey, two out of the five discs

Cave dwelling

I hesitate to post this, but would so appreciate prayer. My health has been struggling. Migraines, headaches, fatigue, and other issues are taking their toll. Three herniated discs in my neck may be part of the problem as pain nauseates me most days. God has graciously allowed me time to not have as much on my plate. I’ll speak on Monday then fly to Texas on Wednesday through Sunday to check on my parents. When
