Last night I had a raging migraine. Slumped in the recliner with a light-blocking eye mask over my eyes, blankets to warm me, and the Christian music channel playing whisper-soft songs, I prayed for relief. Later, I crawled to bed grateful – our son’s college classes don’t start until later the next morning. Most days, when hubby’s alarm goes off at 5:15, I stay in bed to read devotions and pray before I rise. This morning, I read my devotions and prayed expecting to go back to sleep and have an extra hour of rest. Snuggled back in my covers, I prayed God would direct my day. Then, I sensed His still small voice, “Get out of the bed. Don’t miss the blessing.” Surely, I imagined it. Would God answer my prayer that quickly? Maybe it was just me thinking that I needed to get up. Again, I prayed. Again, “Don’t miss the blessing.”

Read more →In the early 1970’s two members of the oldest Sunday school class at Tallowood Baptist Church decided they wanted to help Boy’s Country, a Christian home for boys. Mrs. Chapman and Mrs. Hadlow had both been missionaries in their younger days. Even though they were widows living on limited income, they approached their church asking for donations for a benefit garage sale. For those like themselves with little resources, they divided plants in pots on their porches or in their yards to sell to other gardeners.

Testing began immediately to find the problems, and Monday we received word he would need a heart Cathertization. Tuesday morning, the doctors found 90% blockage and placed three stents in his heart.
