Thankfully, God loves us even with our human frailties. He gave us a working mind and emotions. Fear in itself is not a negative. Without fear I would be jumping off mountains or body surfing a waterfall. Healthy fear keeps me out of trouble and a

Since I’m bleeding from an area that should not be bleeding, I’ll see a surgeon on Tuesday. This will be my seventh surgery. Do I believe God heals? Yes! Do I have faith that He will heal me? You betcha! I have no doubt that God will take great care of me, just don’t know what will be required during this part of the journey.

The past rears its ugly head in the daylight, others creep into dreams in the night, but both leave me struggling to regain a firm footing. If I’m not careful, the dreaded pity party comes to call, complete with an abundance of whine and chocolate, maybe I’ll even put on a sad song so the tears flow freely. “Poor me” I say in my best whiney voice, please pass the chocolate. As tempting as it may be to wallow in the muck of the past, there are choices.

A few nights ago, Shaun White won the Gold medal in the snowboard half-pipe competition. The television announcer made me pause when he mentioned that Shaun thrives on the pressure. Interesting. “We fall, get back up and we try it again. It’s the best part of our sport,” White said. What if we had the same attitude when life gets difficult?

Lisa Buffaloe “I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”(Psalm 121:1-8). Oh how I long for the mountains and hills; to see the vistas of tree lined mountains in the distance, to hear the running streams and the wind through the trees, the sunlight streaming through the leaves to kiss the earth. Sit with me on the porch as we admire the works of Your hands. Let me hear the laughter of my son as he plays in the stream and runs in the hills.“Then the LORD said, ‘There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by’” (Exodus 33:21-22). How my soul longs to stand in the cleft of the rock as God’s glory passes by. Oh that I may feel Your presence sweet Lord. Father, cover me with Your hand. Let me stand near You.
“For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills“(Deuteronomy 8:7). “The mountains will bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.” (Psalm 72:3) Dear Father, any prosperity that comes into our hands let it flow out to help others, to further Your kingdom. “the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.” (Psalm 114:4)
